Visa “Fast Track” Service for AmCham Members

Dear AmCham Members,

Tashkent, Uzbekistan
March 7, 2007

As a service to our membership AmCham is always pleased to provide visa support for those members looking to travel to the United States for business purposes. We work closely with the Consular Section at the Embassy and we are greatly appreciative of everyone's collaboration in making this useful for all concerned.

We have recently been reminded by the Consular Section of the need to pay strict attention to the need for all documentation to be timely and accurate and for all applicants to be prompt for their appointed interviews. Several recent incidents have resulted in applicants being deferred and/or denied visas because their documentation was not in conformity with the requirements or because they were late for their appointments. This is unfortunate as it represents a waste of time for all involved to say nothing of the cost.
The Consular Section has also provided useful guidance for those who have a current visa to the United States, but need to change and/or replace their current passports. In these cases the Consular Section recommends that the visa holder come to the Consular Section at the Embassy where the existing visa will be stamped "cancelled without prejudice", thereby facilitating the holders ability to apply for a new visa to be inserted in the holders new passport once it is available.

If you have any questions please call the AmCham office.
With the most sincere wishes,

Donald Nicholson II
 President of AmCham in Uzbekistan
